水道水のにおいや味が気になる!?

皆さまはお水を飲むとき、どうされていますか？

お水をしっかり飲んで体内の水分量を補うことで、血行が良くなり体のすみずみまで栄養や酸素を運び、細胞の活性化で代謝を上げる効果があります。

日本の水道水は世界的に見ても水質がよいことで知られていますよね。

私たちが日々安心して水道水を使えるよう、「水質基準」が定められ、日本の水道水はそのまま飲んでも健康上の問題はありません。

とはいえ、水道水には、目に見えないさまざまな物質が含まれています。
その中には、味やにおいに影響を与えるものも多くあります。

マンションなどの集合住宅では、貯水槽の劣化などが原因で水道水の色やにおいの問題が生じることも…。

水道水をそのまま飲むことに抵抗のある方も 多いのではないでしょうか？

おうちでできる対策をご紹介！

水道水中の塩素を減少させる方法

汲み置きや煮沸、レモン汁を入れるなどが知られています。
汲み置きする場合には、なるべく日光に当てて塩素を揮発させましょう。
沸騰させる場合は、沸いてもすぐに火を止めず、やかんの蓋を開けて10分ほどグラグラと沸かし続けましょう。
塩素を除去した水は菌が繁殖しやすいため、冷蔵庫で保管し、なるべく早く使い切るようにしてください。

カビや土のにおいがする

水源となる河川やダム湖で植物プランクトンや菌類が繁殖することにより、カビや墨汁のようなにおいが生じることがあります。
とくに夏場にこうした臭いが感じられることが多く、また、台風や大雨によって河川が増水した際には、水道水に土のにおいがつくこともあります。
こうした場合には、しっかりと沸騰させた後、よく冷やすことでにおいが気にならなくなります。

金属のにおいがする

水道管使用された金属によって、長時間滞留した水道水へにおいが移ることがあります。
とくに朝一番に使うときや長期間留守にした後には、このような金属臭が感じられることが多いようです。
また、受水槽の清掃が不十分であったり水道管の老朽化なども原因として考えられます。
気になる時は、使い始めに2～3分ほど水を流し続けましょう。
しばらく通水しても改善しないときは、お住まいの地域の水道局に問い合わせましょう。
